Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To proceed with the agreed additional funding (£155,000) approved through the Capital Bidding process in order to meet the shortfall in the RAMM Ventilation and Access Scheme.

Reasons for the decision:

To avoid losing committee external grant funding and by securing this, cover expenditure already made. The decision also prevents reputational damage for Exeter City Council – with implications beyond the project.

Alternative options considered:

Not proceeding – but would involve finding funds for £65,000 of expenditure already made plus potentially a further £25,000 for abortive costs that the Museum Development Appeal Trust as a charity may not be able to cover.
