Decision:

To contribute a one-off capital sum from the Council’s uncommitted s106 funds to Exeter YMCA. The funding is to be used towards the development of the Acland Road site in Exeter. The site is to be developed as new move-on housing for the Exeter YMCA project and other Exeter based young persons supported housing services.

Reasons for the decision:

To support the expansion of supported housing units for local (Exeter) young persons in need of supported housing as a stage in their preparation to move into future independent living.

Alternative options considered:

There are no other alternative sources of capital funding or equivalent borrowing ordinarily available to the Council for this purpose. The development fits the remit of S106 affordable homes receipts.
