Councillor Shiel was appointed Chair for the meeting.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (ACCESS TO INFORMATION) ACT 1985 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

To pass the following resolution:

 

RESOLVED that, under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for items 4 to 6 on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act.

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF A PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE FOR A VEHICLE OVER EIGHT YEARS OLD (MR B.S.)

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr S to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, an E class Mercedes, registration mark W 982 WVV had first been registered on 1 June 2000. Mr S confirmed that he wished to renew the licence for a further 12 months. Mr S attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Private Hire vehicle licence for a vehicle which is over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months.

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF A HACKNEY CARRIAGE VEHICLE LICENCE FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS OVER EIGHT YEARS OLD (MR K.S.)

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Senior Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr S to renew a Hackney Carriage Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, a purpose built TX1, registration mark W 295 PEU, had first been registered on 20 June 2000. Mr S confirmed that he wished to renew the licence for a further 12 months. Mr S attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Hackney carriage licence for a vehicle which is over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months.

APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO TRADE (MR M.W.)

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application for the renewal of consent to street trade for a period of 12 months in Castle Street (adjacent to High Street), Exeter, which was a designated consent street under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1982.

 

Mr W’s application was to trade in coffee etc and fast food from the site. He had held consent for 12 months and in that time had not attracted any complaints. He was seeking to trade from Monday to Saturday between 09.00 hours until 16.00 hours.

 

Mr W was not in attendance.

 

RESOLVED that street trading consent be granted to Mr W for a period of 12 months.
