APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR

To appoint a Chair for the meeting.

 

Minutes:

Councillor Mrs Danks was appointed Chair for the meeting.

Application for a Variation of a Premises Licence - The Arena Nightclub, Summerland Street, Exeter pdf icon PDF 72 KB

Minutes:

The Principal Licensing Officer advised that an application had been received for a variation of a Premises Licence at the Arena Nightclub, Summerland Street, Exeter in the terms set out in the Operating Schedule.

 

A copy of the notice of Determination was attached as an appendix to the Minutes.

 

The Licensing Sub-Committee determined that there was no sufficient evidence presented to it on the application that justified the exercise of its powers to impose conditions or refuse the variation applied for and accordingly the variation was granted as applied for.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (ACCESS TO INFORMATION) ACT 1985 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

To pass the following resolution:

 

“RESOLVED that, under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for items 4 and 5 on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act.”

RESOLVED that, under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the consideration of the following items on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I, Schedule 12A of the Act.

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF A PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE FOR A VEHICLE OVER EIGHT YEARS OLD (Mr F.Y)

To consider the report of the Head of Environmental Health Services – report circulated to members

 

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr Y to renew a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, a Peugeot 406 saloon car, registration mark KP52 AFJ had first been registered on 14 October 2002.

 

Mr Y confirmed that he wished to renew the licence for a further 12 months.

 

Mr Y attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage vehicle licence for a vehicle which is over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months subject to an independent vehicle inspection. The Sub Committee also stated that they did nit feel that they needed to apply the policy in relation to swivel seats on this occasion.

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF A PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE LICENCE FOR A VEHICLE OVER EIGHT YEARS OLD (Mr R.H)

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr H to renew a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, a TX1 wheelchair accessible Taxi, registration mark W302 PEU had first been registered on 12 April 2000.

 

Mr H confirmed that he wished to renew the licence for a further 12 months.

 

Mr H attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage vehicle licence for a vehicle which is over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months subject to an independent vehicle inspection.
