To appoint a Chair for the meeting.

 

Minutes:

Councillor D Henson was appointed Chair for this meeting.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (ACCESS TO INFORMATION) ACT 1985 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

To pass the following resolution:-

 

RESOLVED that, under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for items 4 and 5 on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Application for the renewal of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence (Mr G.L.)

To consider the report of the Assistant Director Environment.

The Chair introduced the Sub Committee Members and Officers.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr L to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, a Vauxhall Vivaro, registration mark CE53 JAU, had first been registered on 23 September 2003.

 

Mr L attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application confirming that the vehicle was in a good condition. Maintenance and servicing was undertaken at the Vauxhall dealership who were fully acquainted with this make of vehicle.

 

The Sub Committee was unanimous in its decision.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage vehicle licence for a vehicle which was over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months subject to an independent vehicle inspection.

Application for the renewal of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence (Mr S.K.)

The Principal Licensing Officer presented an application from Mr K to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence in relation to a vehicle which was over eight years old. The vehicle, a Ford Mondeo Zetec, registration mark MJ02 UHS, had first been registered on 24 May 2002.

 

Mr K attended the meeting and spoke in support of his application confirming that the vehicle was well maintained and in a good condition. He had been the sole driver during the period of ownership and confirmed that the vehicle was equipped with necessary safety equipment, fire extinguisher etc.

 

The Sub Committee was unanimous in its decision.

 

RESOLVED that the application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage vehicle licence for a vehicle which was over eight years old be approved for a period of 12 months subject to an independent vehicle inspection.
