Councillor Owen was appointed as Chair for this meeting.

Councillors are reminded of the need to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests that relate to business on the agenda and which have not already been included in the register of interests, before any discussion takes place on the item. Unless the interest is sensitive, you must also disclose the nature of the interest. The Chair introduced the Members of the Sub-Committee together with the Legal Advisor, the Principal Licensing Officer and the Democratic Services Officers. The Legal Advisor set out the hearing procedure and the Applicant, who was in attendance, agreed that the procedure was understood.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer presented the application to grant a new premises license for Souvlaki and Gyros, 3 Buddle Lane, Exeter, EX4 1JU.and confirmed that there had been one representation received which was relevant to the Licensing Objective, the Prevention of Public Nuisance. The application had been advertised on the premises on Friday 13th March and in the local newspaper on Thursday 19th March. Members were notified that a further representation from the objector had been received requesting for additional conditions to be included should the application be approved.

 

The Applicant spoke in support of their application and responded to questions from the Members and the Legal Advisor. The Licensing Sub-Committee considered all the relevant evidence and information presented.

 

RESOLVED: that the application be granted subject to conditions and for the reasons set out in the formal decision notice attached.
