Freedom of the City

“RESOLVED that, in pursuance of its powers under Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer on The Rifles Regiment Freedom of the City Status in recognition of its eminent services and its long association with the City of Exeter.”

 

[Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that the foregoing honour may be conferred be resolution of the Council passed by not less than 2/3 of the Members voting thereon at a meeting specially convened for the purpose.] 

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, in pursuance of its powers under Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer on The Rifles Regiment Freedom of the City Status in recognition of its eminent services and its long association with the City of Exeter.
