Freedom of the City “RESOLVED that, in pursuance of its powers under Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer on The Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards Freedom of the City Status in acknowledgement of the high esteem in which the Regiment is held and their valued and historic links with the City of Exeter.”
[Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that the foregoing honour may be conferred be resolution of the Council passed by not less than 2/3 of the Members voting thereon at a meeting specially convened for the purpose.] Minutes: RESOLVED that, in pursuance of its powers under Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer on The Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards Freedom of the City Status in acknowledgement of the high esteem in which the Regiment is held and their valued and historic links with the City of Exeter.
(In accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 the foregoing honour was conferred by resolution of the Council passed by more than ? of the Members voting thereon at this meeting specially convened for this purpose.) |
