The Resolution at Council on 20^th February 2018 identified that the decision as to when the existing Bus Station is to close would be delegated to the Chief Executive & Growth Director, in consultation with the Leader and the Portfolio Holder for Health & Wellbeing, Communities & Sport.

As you are aware, the officers and consultants within the project team have been reviewing and considering all the interacting matters connected with the timing of the bus & coach station closure. This work had identified that the key driver to the timing of the closure id the need for the commencement of the enabling works on the site, which will inform the detailed cost proposals developed during the current main contractor/builder procurement process.

The outcome of 16^th June 2018 has been discussed with the current Bus and Coach Station operator, Stagecoach, who find this date agreeable.

At this stage there is still an amount of work required to enable closure on the date identified above including obtaining TRO approval from Devon County Council, completing of technical design, and final white lining changes required to the highways network. These matters are all being progressed by the project team, however until all these are concluded, the closure date is to remain a ‘forecast date’.

Following confirmation of this forecast closure date (such confirmation as signed at the foot if this letter), the team will move towards closure at 23:59 on 16^th June 2018, which will include proactive publicity if the forecast closure date and active engagement with various stakeholders.
